Picture
This is a continuation of the Exhale Meditation App case study we did a couple months back.
Since then the brand and the style of the app has developed alot further.
Picture
For starters we changed the name from "Exhale" to "Here". The Here app will also include social-based features that will allow our users to feel that they are
a part of a community committed to promoting their emotional and mental health.

Mockups

Picture
The initial theme was using a sea shell as a logo. However after collaborating with branding we changed the name to here. And used some adinkra symbol of “focus” as the logo. Using blue to give it a corporate feel and also blue being a peaceful color.
Picture
The original mockup had a focus on the subscription model. The final mockup has a carousel of meditations available, and a tab for recently played meditations.

I developed a mood screen that would come up when you press play on the daily meditation.
The daily mood selections would be logged and by the end of the month your progress would be shown in a graph. To show if your moods are improving over time.
Picture
The user flow was made a lot simpler. Users would enter their credit card info in the signup process. And once signed in, would have access to the meditatons and other content on the app.

Conclusion

Overall  the changes made was a lot better. The design looks a lot more professional, the flow is a lot easier and intuitive for the users to use. We should launch the product in March 2023.  I learned that design is always changing and there is always room for improvement. Will update this when the app is available here. We are preparing for a soft launch and will see how the general public reacts to the MVP. Hope to continue making updates to the designs.
I am enjoying how much I have improved over the past couple months in UX design, there has been a steady amount of growth.

Picture
The Product
Most entrepreneurs in the Caribbean have to wait weeks at time to receive payment from international clients. Coin Lynk aims to fix by providing a fast transfer of funds between the Caribbean and the world.

Project Duration
January 2022- April 2022

The Problem
Entrepreneurs struggling to find ways to receive payment from international clients.

The Goal
Design an app that makes money transfer quick and user friendly.

My Role
UX Designer designing the app and testing it out as well.

My Responsibilities
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.

Picture
Summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users needs. A primary user group consisted of working adults who have small businesses.
The group confirmed the issues found with the app. Its still not easy enough to use at first some of the directions aren’t clear. So there was a need to redo the design of the app.

We designed people who we deemed would be the perfect user for the app.

Starting The Designs

Lo FI Prototypes

Picture
Creating a low fidelity prototype, I created the user flow for sending and requesting money. I was very bombastic with the options on the app at first. But then I decided to keep it a bit simpler later on. Thinking about the back end developer and how it would be for him.

Refining the Designs

Hi Fidelity Prototypes

Picture
I added some more pages in the hi fidelity prototype mainly the bank transfer page as well as some more tabs at the base of each page
You can view the prototype Here

Accessiblity Options

I would leave it to the dev team to install audio plugins for the visually impaired.

Take Aways

Impact:
The app makes it easier to send and receive money for clients. One quote from a peer user was.
“I love how easy and and clear and legible the options are.”
What I learned:
The process of having an idea letting other people test and use the app was where the growth happened. I enjoyed the process of collaboration and learning when others helped out.

Thank You.
